Interim Program Manager


Reports To

The Interim Program Manager will report to the Interim Administrator.


Job Overview

The Interim Program Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing & evaluating various program designs to meet criteria set forth in City & County funded grants. Within this very public role is the need to be the face of the organization as a collaborator, innovator, partner, and deliverer of the Generations Aging With Pride mission and vision for LGBTQ Elders.


Responsibilities and Duties

The Interim Program Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Administer all record keeping and database maintenance

  • Manage all partnerships and program locations (either donated or rented) as a representative of Generations Aging With Pride

  • Design, Implement and Evaluate a process for measuring impact of all programs delivered

  • Facilitate classes and programs as needed

  • Hire, Supervise and Appraise performance of all class instructors and volunteers

  • Frugally manage all expenses for program delivery and manage program budgets

  • Celebrate success with clients, staff and community



Provide a bullet point list of the qualifications that are necessary for someone to fill this position.

  • Required:  BA/BS Degree in Human Services, Social Work or similar. 

    • Preferred: MSW or Masters in Recreation / Wellness or similar.

  • Experience: 5+ years of service working with elders 60+ years old

  • Specific skills: Facilitation, Classroom Leadership, Education, Wellness 

  • Personal characteristics: The Interim Program Manager must have a leadership style which fosters creativity, self-direction and a focus on mission delivery. They must also be focused on the specific goals of each programs as set forth in grant approvals and agreed upon deliverables.

  • The role of Interim Program Manager includes the following Physical Requirements:

    • Sedentary / Light Work – exerting up to 10-20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

    • Climbing – Ascending or descending stairs, ramps, etc. using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. 

    • Balancing / Stooping / Crouching / Reaching / Standing / Walking / Pushing / Pulling / Lifting / Fingering / Grasping / Feeling / Talking / Hearing / Repetitive Motions.

    • Visual Acuity – able to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, expansive reading, visual inspection of rooms, outdoor spaces and sidewalks for safety issues.

    • Working Conditions – The Interim Program Manager will perform this role in an office, classroom/multi-functional spaces, outdoor parks, sidewalks and public transportation…both inside and outside environmental conditions and subject to both protected / unprotected weather conditions and unprotected temperature changes.
